The above mentiones, but moreso other problems it can cause... I've been involved into one admin case where the 'shared account' of some other people lead to problem, cause person A said something on account xyz and person B thought it was actually person C because they didn't realize it was A 'driving the char' at that time - anyhow, ooc drama and an admin with a shaking head...
anyhow, in terms of RP and my personal take on that issue: unless the char has a multiple-personality-disorder and really one part of it doesn't know what hte other part is doing - I fail to see the purpose since person A can't know what person B experienced on the character, but still the character themselves should know all these things... to me it seems like a guarantee for awkward situations coming up. Or it might lead to accidential metagaming while passing the informations over to the other drivers...

the only time i care about alts, is when I insult someone's alt OOC. Then well....i feel like shit. same way I do if I insult anyone OOC.

My take on alts is that I'm too cheap to pour L$ (and thus real $) into a second account to make an alt, and I have a library of cyberpunk related crap in my existing inventory that I've never actually used.
So I just build the new av, change my name tag, and go my alty way. Everyone knows "Hey Syl (the slashbot) was Niobe's alt, because the av name is still Naomah Beaumont."
It makes things a little more confusing when I'm wearing my human disguise kit (but still playing Nio), but hopefully the similarities in the av (same shape, same skin in the non-striped version, etc) will clue people in. Or they can, yanno, ask me OOCly.

As of right now, I have two other alts roaming around the city. Played with em once or twice, got bored and went back to good old Teller.
As far as alts go, I really could care less. I keep my IC and OOC seperate for good reason and if someone tells me, well they tell me. I'm not on some kinda manhunt trying to track everyone down and nail them to a profile. Plus, I think its great cause you get to do things that you would normally never get to do ICly.

I have an alt. I was going to make her a character, but then decided I"m too cheap. Instead, I may use her for random NPCs--for when I'm needed as an NPC, but would like to play my main during that time ;) I am incapable of NOT multitasking.
