You should come to germany.
We pay per liter. 1l of unleaded fuel is, no matter if 90 or more octane, at 1,50€.
You need 3,7483l to have one gallon, that makes it 5,62€ per gallon BUT to have it in US$ you need to know that 1€ currently is 1,55 US$.
So at the end of my calculation I pay $8,71/gallon.
My car consumes around 1,2 gallons on each 60 miles so when I fill the tank of 13 gallons I end up paying 113,23 US$. And that lasts for just 3 weeks....
Ok, I calculated enough to know the country I live in sucks because 76% of the money I pay for fuel is taxes. There is a tax for oil, ecology taxes and a 19% on every consumer good and fuel counts to that.
This is totally off topic but just to give you a view on how it would be have a car with huge thirst in germany. _________________ If you need help, search for Craven - can be hired, remember he's a merc |

Petrol keeps going up and up here. Unleaded's hit a high of about $1.70 per litre ($1.62 US) and diesel hit $1.90 the other day ($1.81 US). That's about $6 US per gallon for unleaded and even more for diesel. Of course, European prices are always going to be higher. Italy, I hear, is doing $3.20 a litre.
And as for the SL/RL balance... I should be managing it better than I am. I'm heading into the final couple of weeks of my uni/college course for the semester, and yet I'm spending all my home time on SL. That's easily anywhere from five to ten hours a day at home that should be spent working on the stuff that I learned at uni for four hours. Which pisses me off. I should have a better work ethic. But I don't -_- stupid RP 'obligations'...

up here near Toronto, Canada, I filled up last week at $1.29/litre.
A litre is approximately equivalent to a US quart, (1 liter = 1.01 US quart; in the US a quart is 32 ounces, an imperial quart is 40 ounces) so that would make it $5.16 CDN/gallon. The CDN and USD are pretty close right now, that would be about $5.10 USD/gallon.
I used to commute 1000km/week and fill up twice per week; fortunately I work from home now. |

Balance... whats that?
For me its quite simple... i play at work. I am a SA in a small office and rarely have a damn thing to do. I do most of my SL play M-F from 8am to 4pm. From time to time ill get on in the evenings at home. I have 3 kids and when i get home until bed time they have my undivided attention. After that it depends on whats going on at home. My husband is the king of the gamer geeks so there is always something going on be it a TT D&D or WoD game, magic decks flying, the warahmmer crap all over or the 360 or Wii going non stop. If all else fails he has WoW to fall back on. If i do not get dragged into one of those things ill log on.
I have tried to get the hubby to play SL but he hates it with all the fires of hell _________________ “The resistance of a woman is not always a proof of her virtue, but more frequently of her experience”

Filled up yesterday and it was $ 3.63 for regular. Of course, that is "semi-full service" as we can not pump our own gas here in Oregon. _________________ "YES, I KNOW your life is full of "DRAMA", but sometimes you just have to put on your big girl panties and deal with things" |

Gas here in the wonderful *hangs himself* state of Georgia is around $3.96 to $4.09 per gallon of typical Regular gas... Sadly... I remember when people went bonkers for gas hitting $2.00 .... _________________ "I do not need nor want your approval on how I should play my character. i know this has strayed off topic slightly but to put it in perspective, if we used the us dollar it works out $11.60 for 1 gallon in the UK. and to add to it we have fuel tanker drivers on strike so many petrol stations have either ran out of fuel or are limiting people to £15 a time.
also, im not sure if american gallons are a different size to uk gallons? - some one mentioned that!

Imperial gallons are 160 oz, (imperial quarts are 40 fluid oz)
U.S. Gallons are 128 oz (US quarts are 32 fluid oz)
For quick estimation, it's safe to use 1 liter = 1 US quart. |

It doesn't bother me that I can remember when gas was less then 1 USD. It bothers me that I remember political cartoons about it being $1.49 USD. _________________ Jesus saves; everyone else takes full damage.

I stopped driving recently...even though my car is 40 years old it takes premium and it gets barely 8 miles to the gallon...and it's $4.89 in San Francisco a fricking gallon.
So I bought a bus pass, which means more transportation time, less SL time.... _________________ ....That which does not kill you only makes you stranger.... |
