Satomi Ashbourne
Born 23 years ago in Alexandria, VA to a family with a history of military service dating back before WWII. Satomi enrolled at (or rather was enrolled at) Blackbriar Military Academy, a school she would attend for several years before going to UVA and majoring in Peace & Conflict Studies with a double minor in Calculus and Applied Physics - the pair necessary to become an artillery observer. After supplemetary CERE and infiltration training, she qualified as an observer, which left her optimistic before getting her first deployment.

Unfortunately for Satomi, her future of blowing evildoers out of existence with a barrage of 105mm shells was not to be. Shortly before she graduated the Observer training program, one of the officers decided that the doe-eyed young recruit was good for a little "fun" of the sexual and non-consensual variety. Satomi didn't take it too well, and cracked the officer's jaw. Although the officer couldn't take direct action against her due to her family's service record, he could and did order her sent, not to her chosen deployment, but instead to Midian.

When Satomi arrived in Midian, she arrived expecting to fulfill her lifelong goal of honorably serving the UAC in improving people's lives through protection of World Government assets and development projects, and through neutralizing all those who wanted to hurt innocents to further their own ends. ((She didn't realize the Legion was the polar opposite of what she wanted))
After numerous delays, including a reported sighting at the Catwalker Den and a gun battle outside the Bunker in which a 'Dui' was injured (Midian City Clinic Records), she finally reached the Legion and joined. However, her problems did not then leave her, as she was attacked by the Pack while on duty (Legion or Witchlight Archives), then again when she attempted to rectify her previous shooting of Dui by delivering to the offended party a JAG Request for Event Inquiry form (Markko Ondricek; CWs). Shortly after this, she became convinced that all nekos hated her and were out to kill her (Kadra Avro; Markko Ondricek and Jade Writer {I think}). While in this vulnerable state, she was attacked by a vampire who implanted in her mind an image that convinced her the phobia - known as anthrofeliphobia, a fear of cat-people - was justified |
