Dia de Los Muertos I know much less about, but it is a HUGE celebration in Mexico and areas where you find lots of Latino folks. Anyone else know more about it and care to elucidate?

Well, digging into my extensive store of misinformation, I believe the "Day of the Dead" is on November 1st, All Saint's Day (celebrates the memory of children who have passed away) and November 2nd, All Soul's Day (celebrates the lives of deceased adults). Lots of ghoulish candy skulls, pinatas, mocking epitaphs of living friends, and so on.
I could have checked wikipedia, but, like, that would be work |

Samhain /ˈsˠaunʲ/ from the Old Irish samain) is the word for November in the Gaelic languages. The Scottish Gaelic spelling is Samhainn or Samhuinn (for the feast), or an t-Samhain (for the month). The Festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest season in Gaelic culture, and is generally regarded as 'The Celtic New Year'.[1][2][3]
The same word was used for a month in the ancient Celtic calendar, in particular the first three nights of this month, with the festival marking the end of the summer season and the end of the harvest. A modernized version of this festival continues today in some of the traditions of the Catholic All Souls' Day, the secular Halloween, and in folk practices of Samhain itself in the Celtic Nations and the Irish and Scottish diasporas. It is also observed by various types of Neopagans.[1][3][4] _________________ B.I.T.C.H. (Babe In Total Control of Herself)

Depends...if we're just talking a dance/masquerade, should only be for a few hours while it's happening, not the whole weekend. _________________ Forget you're blood and bone,

There are all sorts of rights of passage that go along with Samhain too, I play a character elsewhere that had to go through them, she is a Bandraoi (Druid Priestess) who practices draiocht eireannach (Irish Magic) according to the tradition, she also speaks broken Gaelic which is a bitch to RP, but fun.
Anyway...I love Masha's idea, those that want to go gross can, those that want to simply dress up can for fun but we should try to be wilder than usual of course or it would just be another day in Midian. _________________ (Pera Sutekh, twin sis of Chigaru) BIO!>Pera

Cam has the spider monkey AV
Funny I'd decided to ask her for OOC consent to rape her sometime, till I saw her pink furry behind, kinda put's you off...looked abit tight in there too.
I say goth Masha, sounds sexy...Not that I've ever seen your AV, or know your char, but the choice between primate and goth isn't that hard. _________________ Jay Skall

I like the zombie infestation, we can start it in the burnt area or maybe a horde of ghosts. That would be fun.
Hmm, trick or treat through all the stores and major venues, a ball at TZ or the theater, maybe horror movies there. |
