Ok I don't know the whole story about why the MCMC centers are closed, but I know enough to be extremely unhappy, you could go and say pissed I guess, that they are closed.
My role seems to be mostly as a victim. Might not be how I see myself, but we all react to the rp we're given in the best way we can. Where do victims go after they've been abused? Why if they're physically able to they might go to MPD and file a complaint, or more often they're taken to MCMC to be patched up or have their lives saved.
But now MCMC is closed because the people running it feel they need to go on strike because some individuals attacked the MCMC. Instead of taking the common sense approach and either voiding the rp or the extreme case of banning the people that broke the MCMC rules they shut it down to everyone.
Ok that's your choice. My personal opinon is what you did was the wrong approach. Attacks on people continue and the people needing your care now have nowhere to go. Pretty childish response if you ask me.
Now my choice is I can also go on strike for as long as I want against the MCMC. Half the time there's never anyone there anyway to help a victim so is it really a loss to us to never walk in there again to give you rp? Not really, we can just "pretend" that we were treated and skip the rp with you. That's what I plan on doing in the future. Not because of the times I've gone in there and there wasn't someone around, but because of your childish reaction to close the MCMC to ANY and ALL rp instead of handling it like an adult.
You showed me that you don't care about my rp so my reaction is going to be I don't care about yours either.
I'm hoping that I get some kind or response to this as there's a whole lot more I'd like to say about it and everyone should be given the chance to express their opinion too, but if I don't then I'll just figure that no one really cares about the people that play your victims other then that we're there for when you want to half kill someone in a rape or an attack.
Please, don't punish everyone because of the actions of a few, punish those that deserve it.

When faction/City related areas close down, there is usually a greater reason involved beyond simple pettiness. All I have to say there.

I don't think the MCMC is closed, I know Hax medical center is.
I'll ask Jade when I see her..she'll be able to
A. Either let the closing stand if its a storyline
B. Over rule it if it's emo oocness. |

| When I was inside MCMC waiting for a medic/doctor I was im'd by Defarge, at least I think that was the name of the person, and told that MCMC was closed to all rp because they were on strike over an attack by a member of the hounds. There were no supplies, asbestos was everywhere because of an explosion and that the MCMC were not rping while on strike. |

It's closed all right, when me, Rena and an MPD tried to get in last night to the morgue, there was a huge prim over the doors blocking entrance. And yes, pretty disruptive to our RP, but I guess there is a good reason? Just weird one day people complain about no one ever uses Apoc Clinic and MCMC and next thing is, we can't because both are closed.

Doctors technically CAN'T strike leaving the city with no medical help..
its called the hypocratic oath..
they would need to have someone on duty to fufil "life threatening" wounds..
But yeah use the rp..
the legion have doctors
the park have medics
legion and park and haulers can probablly get supplies..
really the medical center should have just banned hounds
and hell if they want they can ban me as I never use em.

It's closed. This could lead to MANY Rp ideas!
GO to factions that smuggle goods. GET supplies... FIND someone that has medical knowledge that is willing to help (for a price).
USE THIS for RP!
Think of all the RP ideas and possiablities that could come from this!

I agree Lil, just odd that this will promote the very thing people were complaining about in other threads, lol, the not using of MCMC and Apoc Med and factions having their own medical staff.

Well that's their issue...
I mean they are the TOP dogs with things.. The hobo in the back alley would use, what? Unsanitized tools and such. Just think of the rp things. Things AREN'T Perfect in Midian...

I guess my point is being missed, maybe I am at fault in my orginal post.
When injured, I've always tried to go to the MCMC to give them the oppurtunity for some rp. I don't know any more if me going there is an actual bother to them or not.
While I consider myself relatively new to Midian, I've only been here maybe 5 months now, I jump at any and every chance for some rp. I feel that those staffing MCMC should too just as I would expect anyone would as long as the rp is good right?
I did receive some help from people to get me to the MCMC and then later another person did treat me, so it's not about victims not being able to find help. It's about the MCMC and how they have handled this attack on the center. If there's more to it than what I know I apolgoze to them say if the MCMC was going to be closed anyway. But if it's just them saying we're mad and won't play, that's wrong. |

I agree
If they saying
"We pissed off oocly cuz were emo's so we are closing the center and going on strike" then yeah they big pissy cry babies.. and should have just voided an attack on the med center in the first place.
I don't see it as a planned event because
1. I know jade don't want the medical center redocrated.
2. well... the only reason a joint closes is for official refurbishment and Jade always lets us know when thats been authorised. |

The MCMC was closed due to multiple attacks on the building itself. also the reasoning for this is that the majority of the players thought that this wasn't a faction HQ....
It is. When a member of the Hounds was fighting the MPD and threw a Grenade inside the MCMC the rp was in fact voided. consider that and the fact the majority of the shadowstalkers have tried to blow up the MCMC (I can think of at least 3 instances) and you can understand why the Docs are pissed. If they're trying to RP working on someone and then they have to protect their patients and the like from an attack not only is that interupting an RP, it's also violating the rules of the sim. so The MCMC Players got together.. we discussed it.. brought it to Nikmi Hax.. and it was decided that they should strike and ICly close the Med Center due to lack of supplies, Asbestos and other varying factors. |

I admit I never knew they were a faction, I have never once in almost a year of RPing seen it staffed. I thought it was like public domain and therefore protected from all attacks same as a HQ, learn more every day.

I'm not one of the leaders of the MCMC - I just apply bandages there, but I'd advise anyone with issues to PM or IM one of them if they have issues.
The bombing RP *was* voided as I recall altho Sol will be better on the particulars.
What I *can* say is that no one is being an emo baby here. The MCMC supplies were stolen IC and until we get them replaced, its tough to make bricks out of straw or perform mass medical care without supplies.
Perhaps if someone can locate the culprit and recover the supplies? THAT would be a helpful RP.
