The last month Ive got repeatedly bluescreen errors and crashes when using SecondLife. I did a big reboot yesterday, formatting my harddrive and reinstalling everything. It went smooth, no bluescreens until I installed and started to use SL again.

Anyone else had these problems? The bluescreen message says its a memory problem, but I have a 2 GHz Intel computer with 2 GB of RAM and a ATI X1800 graphics card... that should be enough, or? Im gonna update the drivers for my graphics card aswell and I really hope this will be solved... or Ill have to cut down on my use of secondlife :/ Sad

From what i saw your ram and card look great spec wise, the cpu i should be a proably either. But of course updateing your graphics card is always a good frist move. But i don;t see how it can be a mermory issues as everything is well above sl specs. of course i don;t like ati cards navida is the best:P How long have you had the card for it could be going bad, that happen to me a few years ago when i was playing wow after about 30 mins i would get a blue screen and rebot.

Ive had the computer for 1 year and 3 months... usually after Ive been inworld 30-90 minutes it bluescreens and I have to restart.

Im thinking about sending my computer away and letting the ones I bought it from have a look at it, cuz this is getting boring... Evil or Very Mad

the amount of memory should be fine -- but maybe you have a bad memory chip.

Bad chips could become evident after your system heats up -- which SL will do, as the graphics card and CPU get a workout -- or when you finally start to use some of that 2 gig that maybe only SL ever really exercises.

Before you spend cash on the wrong thing, see if you can get a diagnostic from your manufacturer to test your RAM. Let the test run overnight.

And good luck!

First piece of advice: open your box up and see how dusty it is inside. If you've had it for over a year, chances are that it's pretty dusty in there unless you live in a clean room. If you need to clean in there, do NOT unplug the PC, make sure you touch the case with you hand prior to cleaning inside(this grounds you so you don't static zap anything)

Next, if it's a memory problem(Which you said, but a SS or stack log would be more helpful) there are a lot of different possible causes. Just because SL is what trips that trigger doesn't necessarily mean it's an SL problem, it could just as easily be an issue with a system component that SL accessed where other's don't(Non RISC issues)

I'd be glad to help if I can, I'd need you to post a SS of the error screen...
