I'm quoting myself below from another thread, but having seen all the back-and-forth over "do gooders" intervening in consensual rape and such - i thought I might toss this out as an idea for use in Midian;
"I was also looking at the use of titlers to defuse arguments and angst over people 'intervening" in someone's rape scene. The rapist and victim, having agreed OOC about what is happening, and NOT being open to any "saviours" popping in..both put up titlers saying "Consensual Scene - Do not Disturb". This is a standing non-consent for intervention and anyone with a role or motivation that *might* compel them to intervene then knows to "manage" what they see and do in a way that does not contravene this."
Actually, we could issue a scripted "Convenience Titler" with that as one of several OOC-Interaction options to keep the game flowing smoothly w/o misunderstandings.

I think this may be a good idea but also think in the case of NPC victims being used in a scene the fact that they (assuming they're wearing the tag which they should) will have the words "NPC -VICTIM" over their heads should pretty much have the same effect.

Deb, I LOVE it. LOVE it! And I know I don't have my group tags visible for anyone in world, but a titler...that'll work!
I think it should be Sim RULE! LOL Even if it's shortened to something like Consentual RP-DND to avoid all the extra words. or CRP-DND...but I'm just brainstorming here

Very nice idea. I'm sure we could probably even come up with a few more standard titles for different situations:
Consented to Scene - Open to Rescue
Consented to Scene - NOT Open to Rescue
Spontaneous Scene - Open to Rescue
etc etc etc

Well, it works.
I had to try it when the UAC came after Dui at the Sushi bar today. I really felt flattered that my character got the IC response she did, but the scene HAD to happen to advance a plot line that at least 3 factions are involved in. It's tough to ask people to butt out of a scene and deny them a chance to RP, but I had to weigh the investment many of us had in this plot arc... and put up the titler, "in consentual RP, does not require rescue" - Yeah, I made up the word Consentual, but it got the point across.
Anyway, thanks to those that understood and let the scene continue. Believe me, there will be plenty of chances for IC payback as this unfolds.
