Hi,
I'll just put it out there. I'm new to role play ( so please don't hate ;-) ) but Midian totally grabbed my interest and I want to play too now!
Here's a quick synopsis of my character.
She is the daughter of a traveler ( gypsy) and a mystery man. She is adopted by the man her mother is forced to marry because of her lost virtue. He exploits and abuses Jacqui, using her as a prostitute and his own personal punching bag.
When her clan discovers this, their hands are tied by traditional notions of purity and she is expelled. Left by the side of the road she travels mostly getting by as a thief/con artist and prostitute.
As a child she was believed to be truly sighted and has memories of images and places she doesn't believe exist. She has suppressed some of the memories.
I am still working on the details of her personality but what I am envisioning is someone if you met you would find charming, engaging, often beguiling and manipulative. She is always very polite. Because of the abuse and life style choices she adopted this persona, however, when she doesn't get her way she becomes sarcastic, violent and extremely dangerous. She enjoys inflicting and receiving pain; finding that it has a purifying effect of her. She is however, very introspective, and struggles to understand the emptiness she feels and the awkwardness in which she navigates the world.
She feels incredibly drawn to Midian. I am using my blog to recount both instances from her childhood and her current wanderings.
