We have selected three moderators that will keep an eye on the public forums. They will make sure posts follows the rules.
The Moderators are:
Artika Muliaina, Chandra Meehan and Roxyann Republic.
The moderators will start by weeding out some old posts that should never have been written in the first place. After that they will keep a close eye on future posts.
If you see a post that breaks the forum rules, please let one of the moderators know. _________________ - Camilla Moore |

If you're going to be clipping and weeding posts out from the forum, any chance these posts will be sent back to the person who wrote them, perhaps by PM with a note as to which topic it was in and why it was done? Moderating doesn't really do much good if people don't know which rule they're breaking, and rule-breaking or no a post is typically made because the person had a reason. It would be courteous to allow them to hold on to their written statements if they're going to be wiped from existence. _________________ "In this world everyone is either played, or playing with someone else. Congrats to Chand, Artika and Roxy. One suggestion though, which you guys may have thought of already.
When posts are moderated, people tend to get upset over it for really one reason...the loss of the writing and thought process if they spent time in doing an in detail post.
So when the posts are deleted, it may be a good idea to avoid this altogether by having the mod quote the orig. post, IM it to the writer and explain briefly why it was moderated. This will prevent perhaps any further problems and will also give the writer the opportunity to re-write what they posted in a more PC manner. Just a suggestion.
(we posted at same time Chi, lol, oh well) _________________ (Pera Sutekh, twin sis of Chigaru) BIO!>Pera

Agreed and thanks for the feedback. I assume the originally posted statements will receive a ***deleted by moderator*** remark or the like to it - unless it is something really easy like exchanging a name with a 'somebody'.
The way I see it, most posts will not have to be COMPLETELY deleted, but for sure the flaming and name calling will be taken out. And when it comes to that, I guess nobody should have a problem with it. We will have an eye on it and talk about the process before we wildly delete.
But I assume we're all on one page when it comes to the fact 'we need to do something'.
So more feedback is appreciated if any of you have an idea about easing it....
AS WELL: if any of you know you had yourself tempted into a flaming argument, please all of you put some thought into editing your own posts... that would help the moderators again as well...
This really is not about 'cutting people's opinions' but it is about a respectful community and a good atmosphere for the sim. The forum is a great tool to help and work on rules, and many feedbacks from here have been taken into consideration for the City Guide and other improvements.... So thanks a lot in advance for considering that self-reflecting-on-own-posts option! _________________

Please, one more request:
IF any of you feel offended by a post somebody made, DON'T BITCH BACK to the person who made it in the thread, but send a PM (personal message) to any moderator immediataly.
This should include the quote of the post that upset you and the LINK of the thread. All of us read the forum regularly and will have an eye on our personal messages so it will be taken out ASAP.
Thanks a lot, of course you may hint it to us as well if you feel somebody else's name is abused or not treated nicely. _________________

Just a suggestion for everyone reading:
Self moderation is the best kind. I have thrice been personally attacked in a thread for having a differing opinion from one person or another, each time I chose to simply ignore the topic henceforth. We're all adults here, I assume, and appointing moderators isn't something I hope will prove a necessity. In other words, I hope you three have absolutely nothing to do |

I'm with Belial on this puppy. Self-moderation keeps everyone happy. Delete something you said in anger when you're feeling a touch more rational later, and perhaps post an apology, and everyone stays peachy!
And can I just add that though this might be serious bizness to some people in terms of the content posted here... it's just a roleplay? It's not real life? Toss in some humour to defuse a situation. All I usually do is use the excuse of being Australian, and people can't help but bust a gut laughing at my predicament -_- _________________ http://arcsravings.blogspot.com
