Where did it begin? What spawned a behemoth like Mercy? His story is one right out of a comic book.
By definition, to have a post-apocalyptic world, something must have caused an 'apocalypse'. They called it 'Nuclear assured destruction'. When the buttons got pushed, life changed forever and the people of today's Midian wouldn't remember it. Too long ago was life wiped clean.
Mercy's day had been just fine until the bomb landed right near him. Just around the side of a building, in fact. An ongoing myth that things at the center of explosions survived sometimes suddenly got put to the test as all life around Mercy ended. His, horrifyingly, did not.
The little things make you human. It was a little thing in Mercy that made him extra. Radiation so intense caused a mutant gene to spawn and a whole new strand of DNA formed to make him more than he once was. A regenerating body now kept him from dying in the pit of horror that the world had become. Wandering, alone, broken, and hungry...Mercy walked a barren earth, searching for signs of life.
Mercy had become stronger, faster, more agile and his blood even caused his eyes to swirl hypnotically when focused. His insides became his weapon as the blood could act like a drug to anything inhuman. Lifting debris and walking great distances every day in search made him even stronger....but it was all useless as all he found was himself.
Years passed, and Mercy forgot his own age. Days blended together and hope had faded. His body wasn't aging and he couldn't tell how long it had been. Time didn't matter, all he wanted was to close his eyes...and not wake up.
Sadly, he awoke. When? He wasn't sure, but it was different. Crossing into a place that looked like it was inhabited, Mercy found Midian...and with it, a greater desire to have his life ended. Perhaps his solitude was a blessing. On arrival, he found a town in crisis. He saw crimes that made his stomach turn, and worse, no one doing anything to stop it. Mercy had dreamed of seeing humanity again...but not like this. To let the mistakes of a forgotten past end life again would be too great for his heart to bare.
Mercy learned quickly he needed armor. Weapons. Skill. Crafting most all his own defenses, he took great time and care in 'liberating' some imported guns, metals, and ammo...as well as explosives...from the Merc's and the docks. Mercy had his eyes set on the back alleys.
Mercy found nothing but dealers and perverts, hookers and junkies. A criminal's paradise that had spread even to the main street. It was time Mercy brought some justice to people that had forgotten---when you do bad things, the universe sense a consequence. No one would learn that better than the hounds---
The rest is history.

Mercy does wear a small CIA-type communicator in his left ear. When in slow times or in some fights, he will un-mute it and from it will come his own little play list of metal music. Other, odder things get mixed into it sometimes, but most of it is metal. The harder the rock, the more fuel mercy seems to have.
I will soon be updating this to say a play list of all the wonderful things mercy head-bangs to... Ha Ha! Double entendre! I suggest downloading any of this crap if you want. Trust me, there's a song behind every ass-kicking or Mercy mood.
*Edit* By this point in human history, this would most be 'classic rock'. Sad day when you outlive your own current music. >.> i feel old in some strange way.

No more worries. Mercy died in a blaze of glory with Ceres at his side. None of ya need to read any of it anymore. later all. finding a new sim for the time being. in midian i got to see someone powergame a pregnancy...and apparently if enough people shoot one person, there is no way to rp living it and you HAVE to die. at least, to be a good rper about it....i never thought perma death would get forced on me....at least i took damian's dick with me.
