I hope this is okay but i wanted to start a general Q&A thread for us new people. maybe it could be turned into a FAQ notecard for later if there are enough questions answered.

It's fine here, I'm sure there's unanswered questions.
Only thing is each question can spawn a whole debate, and frequently does, so the thread might become abit cluttered.
Might suggest trawling through the huge number of past posts and answers, and writing up a FAQ based on those, then posting the whole thing here for debate?
Might make this thread appear 'cleaner' and more to the point, as I'm sure it's intention is to be.

Q: how do you ground sit? Can you sit anywhere even if the area dose not have a poseball or is flagged for sitting allowance?
Q: The rules say no "demons" I was wondering if this is the huge Demon forms alone which are not allowed or the concept as a whole? I was thinking of making a Asian Demon alt but it is a girl possessed by a demon who uses her for a flesh puppet.
Q: How dose one rent space on the sim for a business or place to live and what are the rates?

A. Just 'sit' or use a sit animation and it puts you in sit postion, usually have to turn ao off though.
A. No means no, usually, I am sure you will hear it.
A. there are apartments for rent in the tower in apoc, get them when you can, with a prim limit they tend to go fast seeing there isn't many of them.

That's so concise, I'd have written a billion times that in largely useless reply.
Though that ground sit thing... I was in SL a year before I figures out how to use an AO, and even then I had major help from Nenraa and Tatsuo in making the bloody thing work.

Next question... can we use pose balls? half of the ones i have found in the back alleys for a rape scene don't work and are few and far between

Personally, I don't tend to use the poseballs and just emote the scene . i feel it gives me more freefodom, and I only have 2 poses I could drop, which means it's rare I use them.
Your fine to drop poseballs, though good luck getting raped ; )
One little thng, if the balls dont 't work it could be that you have an AO switched on, which will always play your sit pose. Otherwise thye might be the kind that only work with 2 people on them (incase you tested them alone).
