Well I have to say I rather like felines.... but I can't say the same for the ones who talk TOO cutesy. Sorry guys and gals.
Note, I said 'cutesy', not 'different'. Accents and strange use of pronouns isn't taboo.
No. I'm not bashing nekos. I'm presuming this thread was meant for amusement purposes, not to be snarky and rurde. _________________ "In this world everyone is either played, or playing with someone else. We love our Auntie .. yes we do, and awww Chi-Chi .. I try to not tawk kyootsie ecept' to yoo!
But yes in honesty AS A NEKO the cutesy ones can be reeeally annoying sometimes. Personally I am not a fan of the 'house cats' either. But I mean come on .. how can you not love felines as a whole. We are graceful, lithe, generally quite loving if you stay on our good side, and absolutely ferocious if you're unlucky enough to be on the bad one. Sometimes I think alot of the hate springs from envy. |

Back when I first came to Midian and the Catwalkers were under the reign of Rith. The nekos/hybrid species was COMPLETELY different than now. Maybe only like 1 or 2 had "cybernetic" stuff or were "experiments with uber skillz". But almost all of them were what I and other refer to as "Predator" like. Kinda like taking one of our big cats and putting an gene in em that made them human. The tolerated others to a point but perfered to maul you with their claws and teeth.
But it seems over time with the help of lienant rules and Anime (God i hate you so now...) we have the fluffy happy kitties or the "I pwn joo face!" ones that carry weapons 10x their size and magically can flip a bus and dodge bullets.
Well that is my rant on them... anyway. Reason I say all these things is it'd be nice to contact some of the Neko/Hybrids that are doing this and acting these characters that are completely not ment for Midian, and tell them "Hey, we need to talk about something with your character creation..."
I've tried to but I just simply don't got the time to poke all the little fuzzies out there.
I'm not predjudice against Nekos though!! I am one myself... Just an old timer... But seriously.. Something gots to be done... _________________ "I'll be seeing you down a dark alley..."

Yeah, you got lolcats and 4chan to blame for the terrible spellings. I find people do the neko thing because its the easiest thing to do, easiest stuff to shop for, etc etc. It's harder to be part of a minority because you have to think on your feet in certain situations, among the neko you just go running to your chums and its safety in numbers. _________________

Ouch, that's quite a generalization. My experience with nekos certainly wouldn't justify a statement like that. And I have two neko characters.
I can appreciate the humor in the original post, but is there a point in continuing this thread?

In fact, anime i hate merely for its breeding of this mistaken creation concerning neko.
In lore the Neko is merely a house cat with a few supernatural powers, nothing more. It is also a japanese slang word for gay.
The neko that we see in human form are a mistaken reflection of Lycans, Lycans could be both dogs or cats and while both could change shape, neither were humanoid. _________________

Humans, hybrids, biomechs, lycanthrope, vampires, and the variations of each are all an ingrained part of Midian. They've been part of the city since it's beginning and as such, are all listed in the rules notecard. The OOC hate mongering in here isn't doing anything to help the community whatsoever.
Nekos just happen to be a fact of life in this roleplay, just like all the others races. _________________ MCMC, for all your medical needs!*

Folks, IMO we can always find a pet peeve with reguards to other factions.
I also feel that we have a sufficency on "player issues" that we don't need to generalise about entire Factions.
I'm hearing from some of the Mechs that they feel like they are being judged based on the actions of others and not their own.
I'm seeing the Nekos get fingered in a "but they're just as bad or worse" thread.
Personally, I think both groups want to have fun RPing in Midian, and contain plenty of good players to make that happen.
We all make mistakes in RP, sometimes due to too much soda and too little sleep -other times just due to the OOC personality of the player.
What counts is what we do *after* there is a problem.
IMO, if I want to be percieved as a level-headed player with a character thats power-balanced and fun to RP with - then its incumbent for me to focus on "level-headedness", "power balance" and "RP content" as opposed to trying to explain why the actions of others justify me doing the same things they may be doing...that I'm upset about.
If a player does those things, then when an issue happens its relatively easy to separate the sheep from the goats based on player-credibility. If NO one does those things......power-levels, tempers and drama only increase and the RP gets lost in the sauce. _________________ ~Deb Charron
