I just came upon the Skinwalker OOC Rules sign by the beach and grassy area at the south west corner of Midian. That whole area is off limits to non-skinwalkers? Am I missing something? When did this happen? |

| By the way they have the signs posted, about 1/4 of the SIM is supposedly theit permakill area, which if you ask me is total BS. No other group in Midian has 1/4 of the SIM as their own private area, and this area effectivly takes most of the beach area, including where the cruise ship is away from everyone else. All I have to say is that I am not playing their RP permakill shit and if I want to go to that beach area, I'll take off my MCS and ignore the hell out of them. |

Yeah I was a bit offput when I saw the sign at the southern part of the sim where the new hut was. Still I didn't think much of it till I saw it surrounding the entire city. I find the whole thing ridiculous to say the least. Why give one of the smallest and most challenging factions in Midian the largest chunk of land? Land that cannot be entered without getting attacked, regardless of who your character is. I'm sorry but I just find that a bit too elitest for my tastes. *shrug* _________________ If I haven't pissed you off, we obviously haven't met. |

Hmmm. Since I have never, and I mean, not ONCE, seen a "Skinwalker" in Midian City, what is everyone getting their panties in a bunch about? Perhaps they're a group that has an impact on the city only very rarely (again...I've never seen one, and I've spent a fair amount of time in Midian...), and if that's the case, the more power to them.
I find the possibility of lurking, imminent danger in the wild places around the city to be an intriguing, exciting and very interesting aspect of the Midian atmosphere.
Or...are all the tuff lil' predatory bad people getting upset at having to be worried about their own safety? *laughs*
More power to the "Skinwalkers" for making the lonely places a bit more lonely...and less of a "love motel" getaway for romance in the woods. *laughs again*
Again...if this is a small, and challenging faction (and from the secrecy which surrounds them, I understand a VERY quiet one, too..), then perhaps they only have something positive to add to the atmosphere of the game.
If you disagree...then go hang out with the more popular kids on the catwalks or the crypts. If not...then take a chance...take a risk...and see if you might be one of the lucky ones who manage to cheat death by taking a walk through the woods one lonely night. *grin*
Complaining before anything substantive has happened to give you any reason to gripe seems a bit...petty...IMHO. |

| The problem isn't that I'm "scared" as you say, but that this group is claiming 1/4 of the SIM and also claiming that "If I kill you you have to leave Midian because it's permadeath." Like the rules say, all RP in Midian is by consent of all parties involved so I don't consent to their RP and they can Permakill me all they want if I want to go sit on the beach, and I will ignore it because I do not consent to be part of their PR. And NO, I am not going to wear one of their stupid titlers saying please don't hurt me Mr. Scarey Werewolf. |

It's a good idea, in my opinion, just that I don't agree with the way the idea is being represented. The area is huge and the whole titler thing is a bit much. If it could be revised a bit to something more agreeable then fine, it would be great. I know there are people that love to get mauled/ravaged by beasts/killed/etc, they should have these options available. Just not in an unreasonable way as compared to the other factions.
Calling everyone else "popular kids" is just trolling. There was no need for it. |

| I like the idea of the 'Skinwalkers' as well...I welcome them to the city, but I do not like the idea of how much of the area that they've taken as their own. It's hard enough to find private areas in the SIM to go to and talk to someone. (Not everything is about sex all the time) There is a portion of the beach by the gas station that I like to go to to be alone cause that is one of the only areas that isn't populated. I think the area around where their lair is is sufficiant enough. You don't see any other faction in Midian taking up that much area. What if the Hounds claimed all the beach front area from the Dock to TZ, then TZ claimed all the alleyways behind their club and up around the corner to where the bridge is, the vampires claim all the area where the beach is in front of them and then the back street behind where the church is, then the Snake Pit/ Doll and Police claim the whole main street, and say 'It's permakill if you enter'. There wouldn't be anywhere anyone else could walk around in. No one is saying they can't be there or that they don't like the idea of them being in Midian. What is being said is that they don't like the idea of them claiming a lot of the land where people like to sit and talk comfortably out of the populace without prying eyes or ears and how big an area they are claiming...Maybe shrink some of the area they are claiming down a touch so people can still hang out at the bridge or the little beach area near the gas station. |

| I looked into this ..I believe people need to check the updates. No title, no play. You are free to ignore them as they are you. They are not claiming the area as off limits. Just if you put on Their titler in the area then expect a response. It actually requires you to put one of their titles ON to get their attention. To be left alone requires you do nothing. |

The possibility of you ever seeing a Skinwalker in "lycan" form is so slim that you'd have a higher chance of winning the lottery. Hell I've been in Midian for almost 5 months now and I didn't even know they were any there let alone seen one. _________________ "If I was a peanut and your were some butter... I'd eat your soul, set your corpse a flame, laugh at you for a few hours and then put your toasted ass out with whipped cream and at the end of it all.. we'd both be eaten by a fat kid named Phil..." |

I have a bigger problem with them claiming ownership of anyone who has a lycan form avi. By most lore, werewolfs are solitary creatures anyways. Besides, all nekos arent catwalkes, all vampires arent nightbreed, all humans dont have to join the MPD or Hounds.... why do all lycans immediately have to join the skinwalkers... and why is this being claimed as a sim rule? It seems counter-productive to roleplay to take away the prospect of lone-wolf were-wolves (he he he).
I think the reason for that claim was because of the lycan nightbreed merger some months back. I agree the nightbreed should not be admitting lycans simply because in all lore, vamps and were-wolves are bitter rivals.
That being said, I sincerely hope that "all lycans must join the skinwalkers" does not make the Midian City rules notecard. Lest we set a dangerous precedent for other groups to attempt to automatically stake a claim to incoming roleplayers. |

Apparently it's a sim rule, as it says in the signs posted around.
When did that happen? |

FROM THE CITY RULES
Humanoid Avatars Only.
---------------------------
This sim is about realisim. Please be respectful of that. We work very hard to try to achieve this. All characters are considered humanoid, unless they are a realistic animal (i.e. four legged, dogs and wolves etc - no talking animals). Avatars that do not fit the theme of this sim are not allowed.
To make it clear, this means: No Furries, No Dragons, No Cartoon Characters, No Demons, No Walking Fruit, etc. We work very hard to protect the quality of the RP here. Please respect that. Those who do not will find themselves booted from the sim. Avatars such as these, or any other that is deemed distracting from the RP experience of others will be asked to either change or leave.
Please understand that we have absolutely nothing against furries, dragons, demons etc, its just that we are striving to build a very specific RP environment and kindly ask those who wish to be a part of it to respect that fact.
This is how it currently exists. Jade and I had discussed it in the past and she shall be able to clarify the Beast Form Lycan rules, It was over looked in the city text as refering to Beast Form Lycans, but existed in "spirit" way before I took charge of the skin walkers FYI.
I've informed Jade of this post and she as the sim owner will be able to clarify this.
Thank you for your time. |

Is that supposed to mean that I've been a bad little girl for voicing concern over one-sidedness? I like the idea of having werewolves around, I really do. I'm just confused by the "roleplay my kind of werewolf or get out" kind of thing. If it were suddenly in the rules that you had to play an Ann Rice style vampire or get out then you'd certainly hear objections as well. |
