Not a political statement, just an honest question |
IN response to the edit, (which I should utilize my friendly edit button, but oh well) the only viable reasoning I can think of is that [America's] leaders had the most intelligence that fit on Saddam and his regime. That - and he was a power player in the 'realm of dictators' that could be easily dealt with. We've seen lots of useful advances in Military technology in the past seven years, and completely re-defined the way we do counter-terror/guirella operations. That's just my observation from the front. |

Well, now knowing for sure (Well, 99% sure anyway) that Obama's going to be head of the ticket... who should be his VP? Should Clinton step up and make it a super-double, or should he pick someone else? Al Gore, anyone? Would not choosing Clinton destroy his chance at the presidency?
Just trying to get us a little back on topic ;) _________________ http://arcsravings.blogspot.com

First, I don't think she'd take the VP role. I won't go into the whys, I'll just leave it there...
Next, I don't think it'd be good for his campaign to choose her(which, for me means he should). Clinton is polarizing, people HATE her, probably more than those who love her. He needs someone quiet, unassuming, and helpful to his campaign if he's going to have a shot in hell against McCain's real world experience, knowledge, and understanding of the geopolitical landscape.
Come on, even hard core supporters can't deny that his Pakistan comment showed pure ignorance of the realities of the current world situation. |

| As a point of information, Hillary made an overture for the VP spot this evening. |
It's in the Lord's hands now.
God, save us all. (Or at least the important people.)
If Obama actually accepts Clinton's bid for VP, that would do nothing but hurt his campaign even more. Want a surefire way to get Obama elected? Put General Powell in the VP seat. Colin Powell is the only semi-democratic man I'd vote for, but since Obama is still in the Captain's seat, I'd still say no. |

Obama needs someone with military experience or a military background to use as his VP so that he can balance out his severe lack of any kind of service, since your country seems to put so much faith in people who do serve in some kind of way. Jimmy Carter seems to hail Sam Nunn, former chair of the armed services committee, as a potential VP. Any thoughts on who else? _________________ http://arcsravings.blogspot.com
