No Steph, safe to say they won't. There was never a precise date, but between the 30s and 60s is the general consensus on location. Generally with a focus on the late 40s or right on 2050. So you can knock yourself out there essentially. Just don't jump into the 24th century on us. _________________ "In this world everyone is either played, or playing with someone else. That's the great thing about Midian, you don't really need an exact year. With major wars everyone should know when they were, so you can use before and after as references in time. As far as official IC documents you can always use 20XX as the year. Variables are oh so nice. The main theng that would be useful is a set amount of years since the actual war ended, and how long it lasted.
All this talk about Midian's time line has me thinkin' about somethin' I've had on my mind for a while now. With all the gifted writers in Midian, I think a fan fiction section on the forums would be great! Just a place to have a nice read about how people envision things goin' down. Could also possibly inspire some official Midian lorer to manifest itself. |

Perhaps a poll would be in order?
My 2 cents...I know there are plenty of people who RP that they had some involvement in the war, myself included. If the final solution tests were in 2013, and you were at your youngest in the war, 18, and it's now 2050, that'd make some people in their fifties...
My character IS close to her fifties, but that's if it's in the 2030's. I honestly think 2050 is WAY too far into the future for this city for anyone to have had involvement in the war at the current ages they play.
My vote is for 2030-2035 or so _________________ "The worst kind of evil is the evil that thinks it is good." - Collin Matthews

When I read discrepencies in the war (or how far back it is) I just presumed the people were refering to different parts of the war. As various bodies get involved, perhaps step out of hostilities and perhaps step back in each country would have their own dates of when they were at war where "THE WAR" encompassing the whole could have lasted decades and might still see revengefull squirmishes that are not worthy of being called part of the war.
My two credits |

Actually the msot simple solution is to assume, that the period of time that is now called WW III was in fact a series of conflicts fallowing and beeing based on each other with regional conflicts .. interventions by other powers .. a few uprisings and revolutions where the states started to collapse .. and the final blast when one of the bigger powers was starting to loose and thought that now it´s time for the big strategic nukes.
And I guess, that the fallowing unification under the (corporate run) world governement wasn´t always peacefull either.
I think this has enough room for differnet times and different personal backgrounds. _________________ well ... that should work |
